Educating developers for app migration from App Lab to Early Access status.

I often work as a Content Designer across multiple teams, providing support where needed. Sometimes, as a product content designer, I embed with a single team, as I did in preparation for a big announcement at Connect 2024 (Meta’s showcase event). Before apps could be listed on the official app store, they could be listed as a work in progress site called the App Lab, allowing developers to release unfinished apps for free or at a discounted price for early feedback.

In late 2024, the App Lab was deprecated and all apps were moved to the main store. I educated developers about this change and what they needed to do to move their app, as they could only submit as Early Access one time.

Meta’s Developer Dashboard requires very clear instructions to guide developers through what might be their first app listing on the Meta Horizon Store.
